RFA Olna 1921-1941
Built Devonport based on the British Isles class, constructed of spare or out-of-date fittings and auxiliaries taken from obsolete warships.(Odd Lots of Naval Arisings!) Managed by Davies & Newman Ltd, with RFA crew. . Returned to Admiralty service in 1936. Badly damaged when she ran aground near Batticaloa, Ceylon in 1939. Bombed by German aircraft and set on fire at Suda Bay, Crete, on 18 May 1941 during the German invasion, beached, and burnt out. Refloated by German salvors and was found derelict at Skaramanga in September 1944. Sold for scrap.
