RFA Nucula 1922 - 1924
Built by Armstrong, Whitworth & Co Ltd, Newcastle,in 1906. Bought by Anglo-Saxon Petroleum Co Ltd in 1917, and renamed Nucula, she was acquired by the Admiralty in 1922 as an RFA and sent to the China Station. In October 1922, took over service from Pearleaf at Singapore. Based at Nagasaki as base oiler September to November 1923, during earthquake relief operations. From 27 May 1924 she was hired by the New Zealand Government. Decommissioned 1937, and used as a storage hulk until 1947.
