RFA Orangeleaf 1984 - More

She was sold to become Balder London, registered in the name of Lloyds Industrial Leasing Ltd, under the British flag, and beneficially owned for a while by Parley Augustsson & Co, of Norway. Before joining the RFA, Balder London carried aviation fuel from Ascension Island to the Falklands in 1982, and at the end of the conflict was at San Carlos Water. She entered service with the RFA in 1984, having arrived at Falmouth on 9 March for refit and commissioned there on 2 May. She received battle honours for taking part in the Kuwait campaign in 1991. In mid-August 1992, Orangeleaf and HMS Cardiff supported local authorities in relief work in the Bahamas, following hurricane Andrew. During early to mid-1994, took part in deployment with a French carrier battle group centred on Charles de Gaulle in the Indian Ocean. She also took part on Operation 'Telic' (the second Gulf War). In July 2005, she was at the International Fleet Review in the Solent.
