Built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Sakaide, Japan, and launched as Celestine. She entered service in the RFA as Sea Crusader on 10 October 1996, and her intended charter was in 1998 extended until a replacement could be brought into service. She was returned to her owners following decommissioning on 7 August 2003 and reverted to her original name of Celestine.
