RFA Amherst 1951 - 1963

RFA Amherst 1951 - 1963 GRT 3946. Built as Fort Amherst for Furness.
Replacement for NAV Bedenham, destroyed by explosion in Gibraltar in 1951. Renamed to avoid confusion with other Forts. Regular UK/Gibraltar/Malta run with armaments and 12 passengers. Sold for scrap 1963.
